Sharing Sessions with Dr. Joseph Lian

[中文] [Jul 2012 - The Journalist] HKJA invited Dr. Joseph Lian, a Hong Kong Economic Journal columnist, to give two talks to share his views on Hong Kong after the election of a new chief executive in April.

There were only 30 places for guests at each session. This was to ensure a full discussion of views and exchange of ideas. Still, some 70 journalists signed up.

Dr. Lian said as the public had suspicions about Leung being a Communist Party member, Leung was likely to spend an enormous amount of public funds to improve people's livelihood and invest in new industries. But he doubted that whether Hong Kong had enough talent and capable government officials to manage all the new ventures.

The second talk was held in a vegetarian restaurant, Liza Veggies, so that participants could enjoy the dinner and listen to Dr. Lian's views at the same time. Unfortunately Dr. Lian had to leave earlier at 8:30. Pity!
